Wire Flower

 This is my small project, its a contour wire sculpture of a flower in a pot. this is all free hand an continuous, i started by wrapping a small amount of wire around my finger, then i proceded to make the pedals of the flower, using my wrist as a guide so all the pedals would be the same size. then i made the stem and leaf, finish it all of with the pot.

Land Cube

This is my land art, its made from biodegradable coffee filters and small rocks. the purpose of the coffee filters is to hold the rocks in place until they slowly disappear over time, after a while the rock will maintain their position and maintain the shape of the cube. 

A Day at the Zoo

My marble drop project is the project im most proud of. This is a prime example of going big or going home. I took a simple idea of a marble drop and i just kept adding to it. I started with the middle piece, which is the ramp. Its made from paper and dowels. then i made the bottom piece out of 3 small PBC pipes and a board. then i made the top part that resembles the head of the giraffe, out of Popsicle sticks. after making all the different parts of the marble drop, i tried to make it all fit together and move smoothly. after making sure that every thing was working, my partner decorated our marble drop.

The End Piece

   This is my relief project, i was inspired by the idea of always looking for the end pieces every time you star a puzzle. I made the entire thing out of clay. then i decided to make the leg of the horse the thing that has the highest relief and the background to have the lowest relief. then i painted it with a mixture of glazes and acrylic paint.

20,000 Feet Under Pressure

My pressure project that is currently not finished due to technical problems with the kiln. I was actually inspired by an underwater documentary were a fire extinguisher that was crushed under the pressure of the great blue sea. so i tried my best to recreate the crushing aspect with a bottle made out of clay. i am satisfied with the bottle it self but im not satisfied that i could make class drip down the side to represent the great blue ocean

Delicate China

My repetition project, another project that isn't finished due to the kiln. The whole point of this project was to experiment with the throwing wheel, after learning how to make a bowl in the throwing wheel, i accidentally made a plate. then to incorporate the theme i decide to make a pattern out of glass shard so the would make a layer on top of the plate.

Meine Vessel:  
         

     To create my vessel piece i decide to not use clay but use a different medium. I made mine out of yarn, a balloon and glue. i wanted to think outside the box, or in this case the vessel and created something new, something that most student wouldn't really try as their first project. When i made my vessel, i had to devout many hour and wait patiently for things to dry. i started with a simple idea, get a balloon, cover it in yarn, and put some glue on it so every thing sticks together. well it was harder than i expected, not only was it difficult to wrap the balloon in yarn, it was also difficult to make it stay in place with out it falling apart. Once i figured a way to make everything stay in place, i applied the glue, which in this case had to be applied in layers since i didn't have enough time in class to wait for it to dry completely. After day of layering and glue applying, my vessel was ready to be completed, after popping the balloon and a helpful advise from Miss. Sudkamp, i decided to leave the renaming glue inside so when i put a light insight my vessel the glue parts can reflect the light inside the vessel, which is what is supposed to hold.


Project 6

 Project six was an experiment using oil paints, i have never used oil paints before and it was a very scary experience. i decide to keep it simple for my first time so i choose a photo of my dogs. The hardest part of this project was the medium itself, waiting for things to dry was a long a tedious experience but one with a great payout. even thought the piece is not finishes I'm very have with the way its turning out.I like how easy it is to create shadows and values, its beneficial to use the oil paints. There is really no meaning or inspiration for this piece because it was all experimental witch is out of the norm for me.


Project 7

 This is one of my favorite pieces, i was inspired by Russian propaganda and how the news was filtered to the Russian people. i started by cutting out a bunch of news article, then i decided to glue them to one half of a large piece of paper, and then folded the paper creating a background for the negative space in my piece. then i drew and cut out all of the different parts to this piece. there is a lot of meaning to this piece because t represents the filter that people have when it comes to the news, we have the liberator/dictator, ergo the bell on his head, in the middle of the piece, he is holding a shield on his left that is blocking the information from the outside world, therefore the different streams of information and the missiles, yes those are missiles, on the left. he is also directing with his left hand the news to his unhappy citizens, and he is telling them that there is piece in paradise even tho there is war going on, the soldiers on top.

Project 8

 This is another experimental art piece, i have never used water color before,and I really enjoyed this experience. i started by drawing everything out very precisely, then i saw that i couldn't be precise with water colors, so i just went for it, i started adding paint, removing paint, doing washes, and just having fun with it. after four hours of dub step music and water color fun.there was really no hard parts, i just focused in color instead of shape. I really liked how you could add white right on top of a dark color and it wouldn't blend.

Project 9

This was a homework turned into a art piece. i started with the basic sketch of two dragons facing off and the i thought about making them into a Japanese inspired water and fire piece, yin and yang. i really liked the way this turned out, especially since i was using prisma colors for the first time. i used Japanese inspire water waves and fire to fill in the background and use many layers of color in the dragons.
